The simplest way is to use your smart phone! There should be a preinstalled ‘Health’ App that tracks your distance walked. Other apps you can use are: Strava, Runkeeper, Map My Walk.

Can I start the challenge late or early?

Absolutely! The Facebook group will be active for the month of February so if you start a bit late or early you can still contribute and get the support and encouragement you need to complete the challenge.

No, the great thing about this miles challenge is that you can spread the 50 miles throughout the month of February! If you need longer, that’s no problem, do it at a pace that suits you.

Do I have to walk to achieve the 50 Miles target?

It’s up to you! You can walk the miles but if you’re a runner then feel free to run or jog it instead. Just be sure to post your progress and updates on your Facebook Fundraising page so friends and family can cheer you on and we can see how you’re doing too!

Do I have to prove I have done the challenge?

Post videos, pictures and updates on your Facebook Fundraising page with your daily or weekly miles so we can see you’ve completed the challenge. It is also a great way to show those who have sponsored you that you’re committed to completing the challenge.

When will I get my fundraising pack?

We will aim to get all fundraising packs out within 2-3 working days of receipt of your registration form but due to current Covid-19 restrictions, we ask you to please allow up to 5 working days to receive it. If you haven’t received it by then, please contact us and we’ll follow it up for you.

The more the merrier! Please get them to each fill out the registration form to request extra t-shirts here

What if I don't raise much money?

We have no minimum or maximum amount that we would like our participants to raise. From our point of view, no matter how much money you raise it will go towards making a real difference to those living with EB.

Do my daily miles count? / Can I do this on a treadmill? / Does my walk to work count?

There are people of all levels of fitness doing this challenge. The important thing is that you’re doing something that challenges you. This will vary from person to person, so tailor the challenge however you like. It should be tough, but doable. You should feel satisfied when you finish it! And we appreciate every single step you do to help DEBRA Ireland.

What if I don't complete the challenge?

We fully understand you may not be able to complete your challenge for whatever reason. Please be assured every step you take helps. You can just lodge whatever sponsorship you have raised with us at the end of the month or if you still want to complete the challenge, you can do this in the following weeks.

I have another question?
