What Symptoms should I look out for?

Coronavirus is a respiratory disease which seems to start with a fever, followed by a dry cough. After a week, it leads to shortness of breath and some patients require hospital treatment.
These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the illness. They are similar to those for much more common viruses, such as colds and flu.

What should I do if I think I have the Coronavirus?

People who think they may be affected by coronavirus need to call your GP or the HSE helpline on 1850 241 850 for further advice. DO NOT GO TO YOUR GP OR A&E DEPARTMENT.
If you are an older person, with a pre-existing medical condition (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease), please highlight this to the professional you speak to on the phone. A medical professional will advise you what to do next.
