Claudia’s 10km Challenge – Do 10km to raise €10k.

On June 2nd 2019, something phenomenal happened.  Claudia, along with her mum Liz and 100 DEBRA butterflies, took part in the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon for the very first time.

Claudia was born with epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare and debilitating condition that causes the skin to be so delicate that it tears and blisters at the slightest touch.  EB can often mean being left on the side-lines, but not on Mini Marathon day!

This year while Covid-19 has changed how the event takes place, we hope you will join Claudia and Liz for a very special Mini Marathon.  On the 10th day of the 10th month Claudia will take part herself in her electric wheelchair.  Please show your support and join them on Saturday 10th October 2020.

Like most events this year, there will be no specific route, you choose your own.

To take part is easy:

  1. Register with DEBRA Ireland to receive your DEBRA Ireland pack including t-shirt and butterfly tattoo.
  2. Join our community page on Just Giving and set up your own fundraising page.
  3. If you want to register with VHI Women’s Mini Marathon to receive an official mini marathon number you can do so here vhiwomensminimarathon.iePlease note the cost of entry is €10 / €12 if you wish for your pack to be posted.  DEBRA Ireland does not receive any of this entry fee.
  4. Walk / run 10km on Saturday 10th October in support of Claudia, Liz and all those living with EB.

Can’t take part? Send Claudia a message of support instead.
