Fundraising Tips
By taking part in the Kerry Challenge, you are helping DEBRA Ireland fund vital services like our EB Community Care Programme which includes our Family Support Workers and Outreach Nurse. By completing the Kerry Challenge, you will make a huge difference to the lives of patients and families living with EB throughout Ireland.
Fundraising Information
We ask you to raise a minimum of €650 to ensure we can continue our vital services. Many participants pay the €350 costs themselves and fundraise the donation of €300. We are here to help you raise these funds and the following tips will hopefully help you.
Fundraising Tips
Depending on how much experience you have fundraising, you will probably find you’ll need to do several fundraising activities to reach your target. We understand that fundraising is sometimes difficult and will require a good bit of planning, but it can also be a lot of fun and you will be surprised how much support your family, friends and colleagues will give you. Once you register for the Kerry Challenge, we will send you out an information pack with lots of fundraising ideas in it. If you need additional leaflets, posters or signage just contact [email protected] / 01 4126924 who will be happy to help!
Sponsorship Cards
Once you register, we will send you out information including our fundraising pack and an authorisation letter. If you would like Sponsorship Cards, please do let us know and we can get them posted out to you.
Set Up an IDonate Fundraising Page
This year we are partnering with iDonate, to make your fundraising easier. Once you register for the Kerry Challenge, an online fundraising page for the event will be created for you. iDonate will send you a separate email asking you to activate your page by clicking on a link. Once you click the link, you will receive all the info to get your fundraising page started. It’s that simple! Once you activate your page, you can login and add a profile picture and personalise it, if you wish. Then just send your fundraising page link to your friends and family to sponsor you. It’s like an online sponsorship card! And all the money’s raised through your page will be transferred directly to DEBRA Ireland.
Host Your Own Event
Sometimes all you really need is to run one big event and you’ll find you’ll raise all your sponsorship money at it. You could host a Table Quiz / Cake Sale / Coffee Morning / Raffle – this is the time to be creative! We can help with posters and information leaflets. Contact your local pub and see will they give you the venue for free? Contact local shops for raffle prizes.
Local Collection
Why not hold a bag pack in your local supermarket or a church gate or public collection?
Contact your local supermarket, church or pub to arrange a collection. Once you have permission from the manager, parish priest, landlord to collect you can do so without a permit. If you wish to arrange a collection in a public area you must contact the Gardaí in order to obtain a street collection permit.
