Who is DEBRA International?
DEBRA International is a worldwide network of national groups working on behalf of those affected by EB. The first DEBRA was formed in the UK over 30 years ago and there are now over 40 DEBRAs around the world. We work together on areas of common interest.
DEBRA International is playing a central and invaluable role in driving research towards treatments and cures for EB. DEBRA International is also leading the efforts to establish and support DEBRAs in all countries around the world. For a full list of all international DEBRAs please click here.
What is DEBRA Ireland’s role in DEBRA International?

In DEBRA Ireland we believe in the value of all the international DEBRAs working together. We contribute substantially to the efforts of DEBRA International. We are represented on the DEBRA International Executive Committee which meets once a month. We are also centrally involved in coordinating an effort to develop a series of clinical practice guidelines for EB.
We also give our time to DEBRA International communications. We contribute to their website, newsletter and videos, all of which can be viewed on the DEBRA International news page on their website. This allows us to help spread the word about the valuable work of DEBRA International and to inform people living with EB around the world about developments in research and the clinical care for EB.
